Movie Poster Analysis.

Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging.

I think you automatically know the genre of the film just by looking at the film poster. You certainly would not look at the film poster and think it was a horror, because of the bright colours and the pink lips and cartoon like picture at the top you get the idea that the film is a typical teenage girl film. Just by looking at the poster you know the main character is most probably the girl that is the focus of the poster sitting at the front and that all the people above her head are the other characters that play an importance in the film. The first character above her head our eyes are drawn to is the boy with the guitar, we are drawn to this 1) because she is looking up at him, so we know she must have some kind of interest in him and 2) he is the front character within the thought bubble, so we can understand from this that he plays a main part in the film and within the girls life. Because all of the other characters are situated above her, mixed with other drawings we get the idea that this is her thought bubble, so the people above her are the most important people in her life. The blonde girl is dressed in red which is a colour that represents danger, she also is wearing devil horns so this represents that she is portrayed as evil and the enemy in the film. The top left hand corner where the two people kissing are is mainly happy images in the background so this could represent that this is the happy part in her life. Where as the other characters are surrounded by clouds and fire so this could represent that this is the more confusing and tricky part of her life.
